I guess it's about time for another update, seeing as things have actually happened.
First, 5 day until I leave! Yay!
Next, I seem to have the tingle of excitement brewing in my stomach. I was wondering when this would start, and I'm kind of suprised it too this long to form. But I'm pretty pumped about leaving now.
Third, I've almost finished packing. I atleast know where everything I'm going to take with me is, even if it's not in a bag yet. For this trip I got a new duffel bag and a new backpack so as to fit all of my stuff in. I've never been out of the country for more than 2 weeks, let alone 3 months, before, so deciding what to pack was kinda hard.
Wednesday was my last day of work at my summer job. I, in the course of my work, have painted every parking meter in the city of Royal Oak. On a similar note, I saw Cool Hand Luke last week. The parking meter scene is only the first part of the movie. However watching the whole thing I realized how many other movies and so many sitcoms have paid homage to that film.
Also, on my last day of work, my boss introduced me to the fire chief for Royal Oak. He gave me some of the R.O.F.D. badges to take to Japan with me to trade with the fire departments over there. The trading of badges between departments is evidently a big thing. I also got a tour of the fire station, which made the little kid in me really really happy.
Today's plans are to get my watch fixed, get a haircut, cancel my internet connection, and maybe go see Transporter 2.
Lastly, I've added some links to the side bar. Two are Japanese news sites (in English) and the third is a community weblog/news-ish site called MetaFilter (good place to waste time).
Jaa Mata Ne.
